Thousands flock to Torquay Victoria each year for a very emotional ANZAC Day dawn service. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings in Gallipoli, the 2015 Point Danger dawn service is expecting to attract large crowds.
With video screens and digital sound systems, Torquay is well equipped to cope with the crowd numbers and what better way to pay your respects than by the beach.
What an amazing event to be a part of.
But, we agree, it’s a very early start! Why not make a weekend of it with your family and friends and stay at Serenity holiday accommodation?
Torquay ANZAC Day, Saturday 25 April, 2015 event details:
- 5.45am March, cnr The Esplande & Price St to Point Danger
- 6.00am Dawn Service, Point Danger
Followed by breakfast at one of the local cafes!
Local MP, Sarah Henderson this week sent out a commemorative newsletter to Torquay residents.
“On 25 April 1915 thousands of brave young men went ashore on a foreign beach in a far and distant land”.
Serenity Accommodation has two town houses in Torquay (Ocean View and Sea View) available for holiday rental. Each townhouse caters for up to 12 people. At this stage, we still have availability for the ANZAC day weekend.
See you there!
