Shopping in Torquay – What The Locals Don’t Want You to Know
19 September 2014 - Great Ocean Road

There’s plenty to do in and around the beautiful region of Torquay and the Surf Coast for those that enjoy a bit of retail therapy on their holiday break.
Famous for the surf shops at Surf City Plaza including Rip Curl, Quicksilver and Billabong, Torquay also boasts a few hidden treasures.
We convinced the locals to share a few secrets:
Wander Through The Cowrie Road Market
The market is full of unique items from designer jewelry through to hand crafted garden ornaments, local produce and lively entertainment.
The market is held on the third Sunday of the month during September through to April at Elephant Walk, The Esplanade – a short walk from Serenity townhouses.
Grab a Bargain at The Baines Beach Surf Factory Outlet
Here you will find the latest surf fashion and apparel from big name brands such as Rip Curl, at a fraction of the retail price.
The outlet is located at 16 Baines Court, around the corner from the Surf City Plaza and you can walk from Serenity accommodation.
After you have shopped ‘til you drop, you can enjoy a coffee across the road at The Usual Suspects Coffee Co. which offers great coffee and sustainable vegetarian fare.
Explore Exquisite Shops
Down a little arcade off Gilbert Street, the main shopping strip, there are a variety of charming shops to explore, including a delightful home ware store, Living in the Laneway at 4 /7 Gilbert Street.
Update Your Wardrobe at High Tide on The Park.
Stocking fashion labels from around the world, High Tide on the Park is a must visit. There is no doubt, you’ll be going home with a new wardrobe! High Tide on the Park is in Zeally Bay Road, opposite Taylor Park.
Our Torquay holiday rentals are a great base from which to explore the region and are in walking distance to the shops.
We have two ultra-modern townhouses, Ocean View and Sea View available for holiday rental in Torquay, Victoria.
