Walking Tracks in Torquay – A Delightful Stroll From Beach to Bush
4 July 2014 - Great Ocean Road
Wondering what to do next time you are in Torquay? Take a stroll through Deep Creek Reserve.
Deep Creek Reserve is a strip of land extending along the creek bed between The Esplanade and Surf Coast Highway, Torquay Victoria.
The clearly marked walking track takes in the last remnants of Torquay’s indigenous vegetation including native grasses, ferns and lilies.
The bird life is abundant and information signs show you what to look out for.
The delightful gravel track is ideal for walking or running. It is family friendly; generally flat although there are some steps when you cross the creek bed.
Along the way, there are other activities to enjoy:
- Tennis Courts
- Children’s playground
- Grassy area to kick the footy
- Picnic tables
- Information signs explaining the history of the area
- Bird watching
- The walk is relaxing and peaceful – it’s hard to believe you are in bush land and yet still so close to Fisherman’s beach.
